Officials' Courses

Eastern Province Executive will be conducting a number of officials’ courses this season.

The courses will be held at the Newton Park Committee Room (behind the Grand Stand).  

The dates are as follows:

►  Saturday, 26th June 2010
►  Saturday, 24th July  2010
►  Saturday, 21st August 2010
►  Saturday, 18th September 2010
►  Saturday, 16th October 2010

The Agenda is as follows:

08:15 – 08:30                          Registration
08:30 – 08:50                          Introduction
08:50 – 10:50                          Timekeeping Course

All candidates will be given the opportunity to complete the relevant tests.

10:50 – 11-15                          Tea Break

11:15 – 12:30                          FINA DVD on the Rules
12:30 – 13:30                          Judges Course

The Judges’ Course will be for members who have completed the Timekeepers Course and have already done their practical at the various galas and subject to the proficiency level as a timekeeper.

The Technical Director, Mr Alan Reynolds, will be in attendance. 

Mr Neil Lawson, the Chief Timekeeper will conduct the Timekeeping Course and the Chief Judge, Mr Thian de Jager will conduct the Judges’ Course.            

The Judges’ Course will also serve as a refreshers course for the present judges.

It is essential the names/numbers of the people attending the Course are forwarded to me as the notes and worksheets have to be prepared.

Please note that if there are not enough candidates for the Courses they will be cancelled.

1.         For the course on 26th June please reply by Monday 21st June 2010.

2.         For the course on 24th July please reply by Friday 16th July 2010.

3.         For the course on 21st August please reply by Friday 13 August 2010.

4.         For the course on 18th September please reply by 10th September 2010.

5.         For the course on 16th October please reply by 8th October 2010.
